Home staging is all about those important details called pockets of emotion that makes a home appealing to a buyer. You want to show off livable and usable space but also make it inviting and "homey". You don't want buyers to walk into a sterile, vacant, unstaged home. You want a buyer to say this is the one! There has to be some kind of connection or emotion that has to be stirred up in a buyer to make your home "The One" they want to buy. This comes with the staging details. Making each room inviting and adding some pockets of emotion here and there will provide that connection and feeling that will grab a buyers attention and get your home sold every time. So what am I talking about when I say pockets of emotion? Here are some examples. Do they stir up some emotions for you as well?

You need to get their attention, develop an interest, instill desire and then get them in to action to call, email, tour the place.
I like your "pockets of emotion." I just called it an emotional connection point and I love using them in my staging. Thanks for your post!
You never know what a buyer will connect with. Cute vignettes, I love doing them too.
The 3rd photo makes me hungry. Is that an emotion?
The 4th one confuses me. It looks like cards on fabric samples
These are very nicely done. The cook book and food makes me hungry...I plan on using something like this in my next stage..thanks for sharing your ideas
Hi Everyone - thank you for stopping by and checking out my pockets of emotion which is what you learn to use as an APSD home stager.
Virginia - if you saw the bigger scene you would probably get this one. It is two floor pillows set up with an UNO game in progress.
Mary Lou - I love my dinner scenes they really attract attention.
Ok now Mannie I'm off to make some red sauce...your dinner vignette stirred up my hunger emotion. Oh heck hunger isn't an emotion but I'm making the red sauce anyway!
Cynthia - LOL!!!! If it stirred up a feeling then that is good enough for me!
Mannie- love your pockets of emotion. I just decided to add some reading glasses to my list of staging items. Thanks for giving us all some staging "extras".
Hi Kathy - I love using reading glasses I just think they are charming! You can find some at the thrift store for $1 or $2. Thanx for stopping by.
Ok... now you made me hungry too. In fact, staging is adding an emotion to each room. Your cute little additions are really the final touch ;)
Oh.. forgot to say... I am not sure sure about the Vietnam book though. We do need to be careful just what emotions we want to bring out. That is why it is so important to remove religious items.
Hi Lori - thanx for stopping by! I seemed to have made lots of folks hungry. Regarding the Vietnam book this was a travel guide - the theme for the master bedroom was a couple making travel plans. APSD Property Designers are taught to create scenes for a particular demographic. Since we live in Northern VA many people here travel to various countries overseas whether for business or pleasure. Hope that explains my logic!
Mannie ~ Excellent examples of how to draw a buyer in! I know I definitely feel more hungry just by looking at your pasta "pocket of emotion."
Hi Kate - Most people always seems to love my dinner prep scenes they definitely make them hungry.
